As a wedding photographer, it is always a pleasure to meet a couple who simply can’t take their eyes off each other. With Katie and Rick, you can see straightaway how they feel about each other. And you can tell they are best friends as well. They flew into Malaga in the months before the big day do their wedding preparation and final menu tasting, and so we had a chance to meet up.

When the wedding day arrived on a perfect June summer’s day, I jumped in the car with my trusty team and we set off to capture the event in photographs and video. We headed down the Spanish coast to a series of beautiful venues in Granada.

Katie and Rick were both preparing in private villas in Nerja, then having a catholic church ceremony up in the mountains in Frigiliana, followed by the wedding celebration back down at the coast in Almuñecar’s Hotel El Albayzin… A wedding adventure!

The families were both wonderful so we had a brilliant day, and whilst the adults partied, the children were little angels!

I have to say it was very moving to see such a charming expression of this couple’s love, and you can see what I mean in the details – like the amazing letter Rick wrote for Katie to read on the morning of their wedding day… The man is a poet! What could be a more beautiful and romantic reason to marry the one you love than (in Rick’s words) “When I think about you, I smile.”
