Sarah and Dave celebrated their marriage in the beautiful town of Antequera, with Sarah preparing at the Fuente del Sol and Dave at the luxurious parador on a hot saturday at the end of August.  It was an amazing day, and I drove up with my trusty assistant, SuperPenny (as she is now called) through the stunning scenery. Throughout the day the couple were surrounded by their loved ones, with much emotion and camaraderie… In fact everyone got on so well, the whole vibe of the day reflected their relaxed and happy natures.

Sarah was beautiful and the Church service was very moving at the Iglesia del Carmen… However, my favourite moment was after the ceremony, when Sarah’s veil flew away and Dave rescued it… It really was a flying start to the evening’s celebrations.

Had fun photographing Kid Creole and the coconuts at Nikki Beach in Marbella with Katie… This guy cannot be getting any younger but he was shaking his booty and really had everyone dancing under the palm trees.

So little Lucy’s portrait is a high concept image – she is Lucy in the sky with diamonds, just like the Beatles song…

It was a lovely photographic portrait session with her, and she is growing out of childhood now… We put in some loving attention and creativity in post-production and here are my favourites…

It was a fun day driving up to Ronda with my lovely gang, and we set up a photo station at the Cortijo in the countryside where the evening celebration would be held… Then Roly and I headed off to town to film the impressive wedding of Sandra and Bruno. Ronda itself is stunning, and we had a great time in spite of the August heat…

They both prepared at the Parador and then the evening ceremony took place in the Cathedral Santa Maria La Mayor… Bruno had all the nerves, which let Sandra be calm, right up until the moment she put her dress on… The ceremony in the cathedral was moving, and it was a pleasure to see how the couple cherish each other and are cherished by their friends in turn. Then, after a mariachi band lead the couple to their horse and carriage, we headed up to the celebration venue, Cortijo Salinas which overlooks the lake…  It was beautiful. The party was a very international affair –  loved ones had flown in from all over the world to be with the couple… and there were amazing spectacles, including a display of flamenco horses (look out for the video…  I will post a link here soon!)

Time flew past. Day became night… It was six in the morning when we left Ronda to drive back to Malaga… I guess it would be churlish to mention that Roly fell asleep in the car, whilst we GIRLS, (yes, Katie and Penny are superstars) packed away the photo station and loaded the van…

Just a special note of thanks to the Bride and Groom – not only for the amazing foie gras (dinner was quite fab!) but for the care and consideration they had for everyone, including us creatives!

Jen and Ashley got married in style at Finca La Concepcion in the Marbella sunshine, and I was delighted to be asked to film the day and to offer my Photo Station (see here for the Photo Station).

It was a great day, and we worked with friends and colleagues, Jeremy (you can see some of his fab wedding images here), wedding planner Heather, and wedding designer Laura.

I had some portraits to shoot in London, and some loved ones to see, but I was shocked the night before to hear about the riots… There were burnt out buildings and closed shops everywhere, and you can see me here (With a label echoing my mum’s term of affection for me – “baggage” !) and then seeing the boarded up shops and cop patrols in Clapham Junction. In a time like this it felt right to visit the area I grew up in, and it seemed that people are sad as the death toll increases, but the sense of community is strengthening. One thing I noticed that was so positive was that people were talking to each other, and all you hear about are stories of heros. The woman who defended her Hairdressing Salon against teenage rioters, telling them “I am a single parent. Get out of here!” and food being sent out for hundreds of individuals joining the clean up brigades.

Still, makes you wonder what is going on for kids to be doing this? What does it take to make youngsters want to smash up their own future?

Amy and Bevan had a really romantic wedding day in late July… It was a pleasure to drive along the coast to Nerja, to photograph Amy and her friends preparing… Two of her best friends are marrying her brothers, so it all felt like a happy family as the girls drank Champagne and chatted about their men… Then the romantic ceremony took place in the church of Frigiliana, a mountain white village which is just stunning.

Following the ceremony, guests and the couple celebrated at a private villa in the countryside. The decorations were fantastic and the food was great. Wedding planner, Jenny from Spanish Wedding Planner did a fab job keeping everything on track, and Amy’s brothers and father looked after the guests and made sure everyone had a wild night. The party was great, and the speeches were funny and emotional. Who could ask for more! Bevan even got a brilliant hat, with the legend, I heart Amy…

Every year spanish schools have a party for the summer vacation, and the children prepare some cool moves to impress their families. This year I asked what time Charlie was taking the stage with his class (of ten year olds) and he replied

“We go on at 11, Mum.”

I couldn’t help my still very English response,

“What?!!! At night?”

And indeed, he wasn’t even mistaken – I guess in Andalucia the idea is to turn them into party animals when they are young…

At midnight I felt my own Britishness coursing through my veins as thoughts like “these children should be in bed” swam through my mind… The kids all got to shake their bootie… and as the school asked me to capture the event, Charlie decided that in between his own gigs he would shoot his own video too… Oh no! Only ten, and already he is the film director…

On a sunny summer’s day it was a pleasure to find Faye with her friends and family getting ready in a stunning villa in El Rosario, whilst Chris got ready with the guys at the Vincci Estrella, Puerto Banus.

It was a beautiful day and full of such emotion that it felt like both Chris and Faye were just a fraction away from spilling over into tears right up until the end of the ceremony… The ceremony and celebration took place at Finca La Concepcion, and it was amazingly decorated by Laura from Reviva, with lots of beautiful details designed by Chris himself. Everything went really smoothly as it was coordinated by the lovely Heather, and the catering was provided by her company, Fiestasol.

It was great for us to be filming with talented friend, photographer Jeremy Standley, and you can sneak a peak at some of his wonderful images of the day here

I have had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful little girl in the last couple of weeks in Marbella for some large-scale wall portraits… Moza is 18 months old and is a happy and charming toddler, who just happens to be a Princess! It was a pleasure for me to make a series of portraits in the grounds of their Palace in Nagueles, Marbella for her family to cherish. Here are some images from the first session.

It has also been a pleasure to photograph Moza with her cousins… But these images are remaining private at the family’s request, and I am looking forward to preparing the very unique wall installation for their Abu Dhabi home as well as a series of canvasses for the Marbella home.

Of course, me being a pretty informal chick, my first thought before meeting the family was “What do you wear to go to a Palace?”

Hello Baby. This is your mummy and daddy. It is your first portrait – when you are in your beautiful mummy’s tummy…

Paula and Alan were married in style on the first saturday in July at the Villa Padierna, Marbella. I was delighted to hear that Alan and the ushers were wearing pink. Oh joy, I love a man in Pink! But nothing could distract from Paula’s dress. Wow, she was amazing.

What a gorgeous couple! What beautiful children! And what a hot day!

The ceremony took place in the ampitheatre and was just perfect… Heather from Fiestasol kept everything running smoothly so it was a seamless day… It was all styled beautifully and the stunning handiwork of wedding decorator, Reviva Weddings could be seen.  The evening was a wild one, starting when Alan and the ushers suddenly became a boy band and things got wilder, and then wilder! It was a great party, with a hilarious slideshow, and all sorts of entertainment and fantastic dancing!

I was lucky enough to photograph and film the wedding with Jenny second shooting for me, and Roly and Jose filming for me – and in the bright sunshine, my team did brilliantly  (big thanks to you guys, who worked so hard!)

Ruth and Ian got married at the luxurious Villa San Pietro in El Madroñal in San Pedro on a beautiful Thursday evening.  It was an intimate day, with close friends and family rallying round, and much talk of the Bears (which I soon came to understand is what everyone calls Ruth and Ian…)

Ruth was stunning, and totally relaxed as she got ready… And as a man truly in love, it was Ian whose emotions overwhelmed him during the ceremony… all very moving and romantic.

Carla from Reviva Weddings did a marvellous job planning the day and everyone had a brilliant time.

It was a pleasure to photograph such an in love couple, and the best man’s speech really touched on how genuine they are and how he

just had to make a genuine speech (no traditional piss-taking, and everyone was in bits…)
