As a photographer and artist, I am lucky enough to be based between the Costa del Sol in the province of Malaga and the UK. I have enjoyed many years capturing weddings and creating portraits for couples and families and love creating beautiful imagery for clients, as well as doing my own personal work.
As a child I wanted to be a fine artist – a painter – although I was given my first proper camera at a very young age. With a photojournalist for a mother, cameras were just another part of the household furniture in our home in Clapham Junction, and there was usually a super 8 film in the making and a couple of tanks of film rinsing in our kitchen sink.
As a teen I had a part-time job taking photographs for the local newspaper, and then I went to Art School and the University of Exeter. My first personal exhibition was for my Fine Art graduation; I was starting to work with image and installations, using film and photography, and on the academic side, I read English Literature – gaining a double first class B.A. Hons degree… For Postgrad I went on to Central Saint Martins, and then did a Masters at the London College of Printing.
In my twenties I worked for the BBC, directed independent films and worked for film and TV companies. I exhibited and created installations, and went on to set up a small film production company in Brixton. Then after becoming a mother, I moved to Spain with my son for the quality of life, family values, and great weather.
After thirteen years in Andalucia we are now based between the UK and Spain.
Although I have been around cameras and the world of visual arts since I was young, new technology and art continually bring me pleasure as progressive technical developments make the work more amazing and fun…
